Surrounded by plants and flowers since childhood, in no small part due to my plant loving horticulturist mother and the vibrant hills of my home in the Santa Ynez Valley, it's no surprise that I found my love of all things green and growing early on. I decided that my life would always be filled with the lush beauty and fragrance of flowers.
Never far from the hills of home, I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Environmental Horticulture. I spent my school years working in the campus plant shop and greenhouses, growing, cultivating and allowing plants to slowly take over my tiny apartment and imagination. After college I spent several years working for local florists helping design beautiful florals for weddings up and down the Central Coast of California.
Armed with years of experience working with some of the industry's best, my spunky creativity, and an unfailing love of plants and florals, I branched out, went solo, and created Gathered Blooms in 2011. Focusing on the wild and often hidden beauty of nature, I create unique and expressive floral statements that play to the natural curl and bend of flowers, branches, leaves, and petals.
When I'm not knee-deep in blooms, you can find me half way through a good book at a local coffee shop, hiking the trails with friends, or soaking up some California sunshine at my favorite beach in the sand or on a paddle board. I'm a dog-lover, swap meet shopper, cinnamon roll loving amateur baker whose favorite color is green and I'll never be able to tell you my favorite flower. . . ('cause I'll just change my mind tomorrow!). I think it's a beautiful thing when your passion and career collide. I am so grateful that I can fill my life with all things green and growing and can't wait to share all this beauty with you too!
